Kartveit Guesthouse is located on a farm that raises sheep and chicken.  Radøy, “the green island”, offers the best of nature’s beauty, view and tranquility. There is a variety of animals and birds. Both fresh waters and the ocean provide good fishing opportunities. Children can explore animals and nature, and play safely.
SHORT OR LONG TRIPS: From the house you can choose from a number of possible roads or trails where you can go for a walk or a hike. More information about local trips can be found in the house´s main living room, or at Visit Nordhordland.  
SEA AND FRESH WATER: The closest lake is only a ten-minute walk from the house. Fishing can be done from Kartveit Guesthouse´s´own boat or from the lake shore. Information about angling can be found here. Other lakes offer canoeing, swimming and diving.  
OTHER ACTIVITIES: Horseback riding at Manger and Alversund (Alversund Ridesenter), golf and The Heathland Centre. More activities can be found at Visit Nordhordland.
ATTRACTIONS: Radøy has many attractions from the past and present, like the botanical garden Tjorehagen, the Emigration Centre of Western Norway incl. the Emigration Church, the historical buildings at Bogatunet, and the island Fedje. Please see Visit Nordhordaland to see other options.
Bergen, the second biggest city in Norway is a 45-minute drive away. The city offers tourist attractions like the UNESCO Heritage site Bryggen, the Bergen Aquarium, the funicular Fløibanen and The Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen. More information about Bergen can be found at
